Company Companion: Learning from their Word Family

Company is sometimes misspelled because students aren’t sure how to spell the /ʌ/ in the first syllable or the /ə/ in the second syllable. My student recently had trouble reading this word, pronouncing it “comPANy” instead of “COMpany” with the stress on the first syllable.
